The bus, which was headed toward the Sanborn School, was turning on Route 2 from Walden Street when the minivan hit the back of the bus while merging onto the same road, authorities said. This all happened around 7:40 a.m. on Friday, May 26.

There were 16 students on the bus, along with the driver, at the time of the crash, authorities said. The driver of the minivan declined medical care and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

The bus was initially transported to Concord-Carlisle High School, where students were placed on another bus to take them to the Sanborn School, authorities said.

The crash remains under investigation.
